Play Areas and Playgrounds at EPCOT | 2021

by Shannon

My kiddos LOVE the play areas at the parks — dare I say they enjoy them MORE than the rides?

EPCOT has a TON of play areas to explore, both inside and out! Definitely check these out on your next visit if you’re traveling with young kids!

Let’s take a look at all of the EPCOT play areas.

Indoor Play Areas at EPCOT

Sea Base & Bruce’s Shark World

Find this fun spot at the Seas with Nemo & Friends ride exit.

There’s also an aquarium to explore here too! They have daily fish feedings and sometimes you can find Mickey scuba diving in the tank!!!

Space Base

Find this fun spot at the Mission: Space ride exit.

This area is actually really large! There’s a tube-climber area (think McDonalds in the 90s), and a couple computer game type areas. You don’t have to ride Mission: Space to access this either, instead just enter the gift shop on the left of the ride and walkthrough!

ImageWorks – The “What If” Labs

Find this fun spot at the Journey Into Imagination with Figment ride exit.

There’s a lot going on in this spot! This used to have character meet and greets as well but those are paused right now.

You can design your own Figment on a little computer, jump on colorful squares to make music, and so many other interactive play elements!

Outdoor Play Areas at EPCOT

Outdoor Playground

I wish I could give this a name for you but the weird thing is this playground is constantly being rebranded and after years of being open only JUST NOW even shows up on the EPCOT park map!

You can find this traditional playground next to the new Creations Shop and across from Test Track.

This is one of my kid’s favorite spots at EPCOT! There are plenty of chairs and benches to sit on as well while the kids play!

Critter Crossing

Find this spot near Canada.

Okay not exactly a play area but a super fun spot for kiddos to explore! You can search for different animal tracks in the pavement and there are also interactive elements for little ones to enjoy.

Bonus: Kidcot Stops

Also not a play area but this is something you shouldn’t miss with kids so I’m listing it anyways HAHA!

As you make your way around the World Showcase, stop in each country at the Kidcot Fun Stops and collect a postcard and a sticker!

You used to be able to color them at each spot but now you can collect to bring home and color or save.

Fun! Over here in Disneyland/DCA I can only think of one play area and that’s the trail over in DCA by grizzly river run – it has a rope swing and a huge play structure with bridges and slides. I guess toon town has the tree house, Donald’s boat and goofys house but it looks like Epcot has lots for little kids.
