With rides like Test Track and no shortage of alcoholic beverages, EPCOT often is viewed as the Disney World park geared towards adults. While there definitely are adult friendly activities at EPCOT, there also is plenty to entertain young children too! Let’s take a look at some of the best things to do at EPCOT with a toddler or preschooler.
EPCOT with a Toddler or Preschooler
Splash Area
You can find a couple different splash pads that are a great spot for your kiddo to cool down on hot summer days at EPCOT!
The first is located on the main path from Future World to the World Showcase. The second can be found near the entrance to the Test Track ride area. Don’t forget to bring a swimsuit, water shoes, sunscreen, and a towel!

Character Meet and Greets
Within both Future World and the World Showcase, there are SO many opportunities for character photos and interactions at EPCOT.
You can find many of your child’s favorite Princesses throughout the World Showcase (including Belle, Snow White, Mulan, Sleeping Beauty, Jasmine, Alice, and Mary Poppins too!) as well as favorites like Mickey, Minnie, Goofy, Daisy, and Pluto at the park entrance and in Future World — and those are just a few of the fun friends you can find!
Be sure to check the Times Guide to see when the characters are available!
Seasonal Scavenger Hunts
One of my kid’s favorite activities at EPCOT are the scavenger hunts!
You purchase a map and explore the World Showcase looking for clues! After completing the scavenger hunt, your little one gets a prize!
Such a fun way for adults to explore and walk around the World Showcase while your toddler or preschooler is entertained!

Playground Areas
There’s a super fun, outdoor playground at EPCOT that my kids LOVE! The theming rotates between different films! We’ve seen Toy Story, Wreck it Ralph, and Wall-E featured.
This is a must if you have little ones who want to stretch their legs and explore. There are plenty of seats for parents to sit back and relax, too.
In addition to this outdoor playground, there are a TON of indoor play opportunities at EPCOT as you exit rides!
Kidcot Fun Stops
Throughout the World Showcase you’ll find Kidcot Fun Stops! These are little areas inside each of the country pavilions where your kids can collect an activity card to color and a sticker.
There are 11 total Kidcot Fun Stops so be sure to check out a few (or all!!) of them on your next EPCOT visit.
Trains in Germany
As you pass by Germany in the World Showcase, you’ll find the cutest train display complete with multiple trains zooming by on the tracks and little miniature towns!
My son is obsessed with this spot! He would spend hours here if we let him!
Hedge Maze in the United Kingdom
Hidden in the back of the United Kingdom, you’ll find a hedge maze! This is a really great spot to let your preschooler stretch their legs without the possibility of them wandering off!
Definitely check this one out!
In general, I also highly recommend you let your kids explore within each of the country pavilions!
They’re actually quite large and there are a lot of fun details to see. I think a lot of people breeze by the front of each country but don’t actually stop and spend time within. For my kids at least, exploring can be more fun than rides!
Toddler & Preschooler Approved EPCOT Rides
Of course there are plenty of rides your little ones will enjoy at EPCOT too!
The Seas with Nemo & Friends
The Seas with Nemo & Friends is a slow moving indoors ride that is the perfect opportunity to rest your feet while going under the sea with some of your favorite friends from Finding Nemo.
After the ride, your toddler can enjoy aquarium displays as well as the shark themed play area! This is a great spot to dodge Florida’s frequent afternoon sun-showers, too!
Journey into the Imagination with Figment
Journey into the Imagination with Figment is another fantastic spot for toddlers to enjoy a slow moving ride and then explore the adjoining play area and character meet-and-greets!
Kids are sure to love the music and art themed play areas after taking a ride with their favorite dragon.
You’ll find Ralph and Vanellope greeting here as well as Joy from Inside Out!
Spaceship Earth
Spaceship Earth is a fun yet relaxing ride for all ages and toddlers are sure to enjoy a ride inside “the big ball!” Spaceship Earth is a great opportunity for toddler’s to rest their tired legs and it also makes a great spot for feeding a baby (or lulling one off to sleep).
Frozen Ever After
If you have a Frozen fan then Frozen Ever After (located in the Norway pavilion) is a must! Your kiddo will love all of the familiar songs and characters on this boat ride.
Make sure you stop at the Anna and Elsa character meet-and-greet located in Norway after your ride.
Living with the Land
This is one of my personal favorite rides. I love getting to see the behind the scenes of the greenhouses at EPCOT! My little ones love riding this one too!
It’s especially fun if they have eaten at Garden Grill and realize they are on the ride they can see from the restaurant!
Gran Fiesta Tour
So many people pass over this ride because they simply don’t know that it exists! You can find this cute boat ride (think Small World style) inside the Mexico pavilion.
Lines are typically short (or non-existent) and this is always a winner in our book.

Where is the new permanent playground? So excited for this addition!
