The holidays have arrived at Walt Disney World! All of the fun holiday happenings at the Magic Kingdom will be available through December 30.
This year, the holiday celebration at the Magic Kingdom is different (I think in a good way!) than previous years since Mickey’s Very Merry Christmas Party has been cancelled. Previously we didn’t get to experience any of the special holiday experiences during daytime park hours. Now that the special ticketed nighttime event is not being offered, we’re getting holiday fun during the day! HOORAY! 🙂
Here’s what you can expect to find at the Magic Kingdom for the holidays in 2020.
Holiday Cavalcades
There are 4 different cavalcades that happen randomly throughout the day at the Magic Kingdom. These all follow the typical parade route and start in Frontierland next to Splash Mountain, and then end at the Fire Station on Main Street.
You’ll know a cavalcade is coming when you hear the park music change!
Santa’s Christmas Cavalcade
Santa Claus is coming to town! A team of reindeer prance down the street, leading the way for Santa high on his sleigh, calling out to all the girls and boys. Runs between 11:05 am – 4:35pm.
A Royal Christmas Processional
Herald the arrival of Cinderella and her fellow Disney Princesses, gliding along on a beautiful crystal castle float decked out for the season. Runs between 12:05pm – 4:20pm.
Mickey’s Holiday Cavalcade
Wave to Disney Characters celebrating the holidays as they pass through the Magic Kingdom, with Mickey Mouse and Minnie Mouse greeting everyone from atop a beautiful Christmas tree float. Runs between 10:30am – 4:45pm.
Goofy’s Scrumptious Cavalcade
Watch Goofy and his friends cook up some holiday fun from their festive floats, wishing everyone a very merry Christmas. Runs between 10:40am – 3:55pm ONLY Thursday – Monday.
Holiday Entertainment
Cinderella Castle Holiday Projections
Watch in awe as Cinderella Castle is transformed with cheerful projections, including a whimsical Christmas sweater and a regal overlay of red, green and gold ornamentation.
There are 4 projections total and they rotate every 15 minutes after the sun has set.
Holiday Dapper Dans
Don’t miss the Dapper Dans barbershop quartet as they head right down the middle of Main Street, U.S.A. on a horse-drawn trolley, delivering merry melodies along the way.
I actually caught them at the Train Station because it was raining!
Main Street Philharmonic
Feel the holiday spirit as Toy Soldiers join the Main Street Philharmonic as they march through Magic Kingdom park, bringing musical holiday cheer for all to hear. This also follows the parade route.
Socially Distant Characters
You’ll see a lot of characters in the cavalcades listed above, but there are also characters stationed throughout the park for socially distant photos and interactions. They come and go (no set schedule) so if you don’t see them, check back later!
Pooh’s Friends at Crystal Palace
Country Bears at Country Bear Jamboree
Holiday Ride Overlays
The only Magic Kingdom ride to receive a holiday overlay this year is the Jungle Cruise which transforms into the Jingle Cruise! Don’t miss this one!

From the giant Christmas tree to the festive garlands and wreaths on Main Street, the holiday decor is so beautiful and most definitely put me in the Christmas spirit!
Don’t forget to slow down and take in all of the gorgeous window displays too!
