Casual Friday | No. 2

Hi friend!

Another week in 2021 has flown by. I feel like I was just writing last week’s Friday post. I know so many people say this but lately I have been feeling it like *crazy*: the days are long but the weeks are short.

This week was busy for me. Business-wise I’m trying to manage a lot of things at once which is something I actually really enjoy! I like being busy. But I often forget that slowing down and just relaxing is a totally acceptable option too. So in case anyone hasn’t told you lately, it’s okay to take time for yourself. I’m reminding myself of that too. 🙂

This week the kids and I ventured to Epcot on Monday (which was Presidents Day). It got very crowded very quickly so we didn’t stay long but the kids had a blast because it was raining and we spent a lot of time playing and exploring in the UK pavilion. Anyone else’s kids love playing in the rain?!

I wanted to get to Magic Kingdom this week as well but that didn’t happen. Maybe this evening or sometime this weekend in the evening C and I will make it over for a few hours visit.

In other Disney news, I renewed our annual passes this week! It was super easy to do online. I know Disney isn’t selling new annual passes right now but if you need to renew, the online process hasn’t changed and is super simple.

I decided to downgrade Deb’s annual pass (if you’re a Florida resident there are multiple annual pass options with blackouts at different price points.) The kids and I have the Gold level passes that only have blackouts at Easter and Christmas thru New Years.

For Deb, I went with the Theme Park Select pass. It’s about half the price of the Gold level pass and have blackouts throughout the year for each park. He won’t be able to visit Hollywood Studios or Magic Kingdom in the busy summer months but we’ll plan accordingly when he’s able to come with us.

Lately I’ve been avoiding going on weekends because it’s more crowded so he hasn’t really had a chance to go with us. I wanted to make sure he kept some kind of pass and even if he visits with us just for the kids birthdays it’s worth it to me.

Next week we have a resort stay! I realized we had DVC points that were expiring April 1 so I booked a couple of random nights between now and then. The kids and I will be headed to The Riviera!

I’ve stayed there twice before on solo trips but it will be the kids first time! I’m excited for the pool areas and the Skyliner access. 🙂 Maybe I’ll be able to snag a Topolino’s Terrace reservation via walk-up. That’s our absolute favorite character dining and O hasn’t been there in a while!

You can read about Topolino’s Terrace here.

  1. Have a wonderful weekend!!! I’m enjoying these little recaps. I felt pretty accomplished this week myself by getting some tasks outta the way, which stopped when the rain came and little kiddo is under the weather. See ya next friday!
