I was SO excited to make it back to my all-time favorite Walt Disney World resort to check out the newly remodeled rooms!
In case you’re new here: Hi. I’m Shannon and I LOVE the Wilderness Lodge! I can’t get enough of the theming, the amenities, the underrated location, and the abundance of room options at the Wilderness Lodge!
Not only are there standard hotel rooms available to book at the Wilderness Lodge but there’s also two Disney Vacation Club resorts at the Lodge as well!
We’re going to take a look at the standard hotel rooms at the Wilderness Lodge in this post but if you’d like to see either of the DVC options onsite: Copper Creek Villas or Boulder Ridge, you can find room tours below!

New Rooms at Disney’s Wilderness Lodge
The Wilderness Lodge room renovation didn’t just upgrade flooring or replace linens, these rooms have been completely transformed! Personally, I was already a fan of the room decor before the remodel but love these updated rooms just as much!
You can see what a Wilderness Lodge room looked like before the remodel right here.
I was assigned a room with a King bed on our last stay so layout is configured differently vs 2 Queen beds (I’ve included a photo from Disney below of a Standard, 2 Queen bed room).
As you enter the room you have a built-in closet attached to a small counter with Keurig, ice bucket, and mini-fridge.
The bathroom vanity features double sinks and is open to the room with a large sliding door.
There’s another door between the vanity area with the shower and toilet.
Toiletries used to be individual travel-sized bottles but they’re now attached to the shower wall and refilled by housekeeping.
The room itself now has hard floors — I’m always a fan of anything besides carpet in a hotel room!
The bed is raised off the floor so that you can store luggage underneath — also a fan of this!
One side of the bed had a small desk area with mirror, phone, and lamp.
The opposite side of the bed had a nightstand with one drawer, lamp and a sitting area.
Across from the bed was another sitting area with nested tables as well as the tv and media center / dresser combo.
Out on the balcony were two chairs and a small table. We had a Nature Fireworks View but we watched Happily Ever After from Magic Kingdom so we didn’t get to test out the view.
Overall I really loved this updated Wilderness Lodge room! It felt fresh but still had a nice theme to it. My only compliant was they removed the ceiling fans and replaced with the light fixture. I LOVE SLEEPING WITH A CEILING FAN — HA!
I hope this tour is helpful! If you’re looking to stay in the Magic Kingdom area, definitely consider the Wilderness Lodge! It may not be on the Monorail loop but it’s a quick boat ride over to the park!
We’re big fans of the resort as a whole including the fun pool and water play area and the great dining options!
