Princess Room at Port Orleans Riverside | Royal Guest Rooms

Have a princess lover in the family? Want to be the COOLEST parent ever?! Book a Royal Guest Room at Port Orleans Riverside and I PROMISE your little princess will feel like she’s stepped into her very own Cinderella Castle.

Port Orleans Riverside is a Moderate level resort and offers both standard rooms (with a variety of views) and Royal Guest Rooms. The Royal Guest Rooms were remodeled in 2012 and feature nods to your favorite princesses, everywhere you look.

From the photos of the princesses on the wall, to the magic carpet on the floor, you will be absolutely immersed in your very own fairytale if you choose to stay in a Royal Guest Room.

My 3.5 year old daughter and I recently stayed in a Royal Room and she was absolutely ELATED when we walked through the door. She also LOVED exploring the beautiful resort grounds as well as enjoying the fun playground and pool at Port Orleans Riverside.

Let’s take a peek inside a Royal Guest Room at Port Orleans Riverside!

Royal Guest Room at Port Orleans Riverside

When you walk up to the Royal Guest Room buildings at Riverside, you’ll feel as though you’re entering a private estate. The buildings are large with sprawling staircases.

There are elevators as well for those who need them.

There are two buildings at Riverside that have the Royal Guest Rooms, Parterre and Oak (colored red below). We were in the Parterre building but I would rank the location of both Parterre and Oak evenly.

When you walk into your Royal Room, check the note from Princess Tiana on the table. This explains a little bit of backstory to the room’s decor and is fun for kiddos!

The desk area has a mirror and two chairs, and a royal tribute to the Princes. The lamp above is also fun and has hidden Mickeys!

The Royal Rooms feature two queen beds, but these aren’t just any old bed. These beds feature headboards fit for a princess! Don’t forget to push the button on the side before bed for a fun firework surprise!

My daughter called dibs on the bed closest to the wall because she wanted to sleep next to the princesses.

There’s a small nightstand with a drawer between the two beds.

Across from the beds you’ll find the typical media center with TV. Look down for a magic carpet surprise!

The media center also serves as your dresser and the small refrigerator is housed inside as well.

Next to the media center is a cute little seating area with a fun portrait of Princess Tiana!

Here’s the view looking back towards the door.

The bathroom vanity area has a curtain that can be closed for privacy.

And inside the bathroom is your closet. These rooms don’t have a ton of drawer-space but there is plenty of hanging space. And there is ample floor space under the hanging rod to set your luggage.

A small carry-on size bag would also fit on the vanity shelf.

One of my favorite hidden details in the room is on the vanity! Did you see it? Genie’s lamp!! How fun is that?!

The toilet and shower are in a separate room off the vanity area. You’ll find lots of the Little Mermaid hints in the shower curtain.

Near the front door you’ll find hooks for hanging bags and purses.

We absolutely loved our stay at Port Orleans Riverside, especially because of the room theming! My daughter was living her best life in her Princess dresses while enjoying all of the movie elements. It was fun to look for them together!

Royal Rooms start at $283 per night vs. $227 per night for a standard room. In my opinion, the additional cost for the Royal Room is 100% worth it if you have little ones in your family that love Princesses!

Make sure you explore the grounds right outside the buildings. We especially loved the fountains and roses outside of our Parterre building!
