Akershus Breakfast Review — Princess Storybook Breakfast in Epcot

If you have a princess fan in your family, dining with the princesses is such a sweet way to make your Walt Disney World vacation extra special.

While Cinderella’s Royal Table is well-known as a dining with the princesses option, there is another (less expensive and easier to reserve) option that you most definitely should consider!

Princess Storybook Dining

Princess Storybook Dining at Akershus Royal Banquet Hall is located in the Norway pavilion at EPCOT. The theming of the restaurant is a medieval castle with tall cathedral ceilings.

While dining at Akershus, you’ll meet FIVE of your favorite princesses!

Make sure you have your autograph book ready because Belle will greet you as soon you enter the restaurant!

After meeting with Belle, the host will bring you to your table.

If you’re hoping for really great photos from this dining experience, ask to be seated near a window when you’re checking in for your reservation. The lighting can be really dark at the center of the restaurant and that makes bright and clear photos with the characters much more difficult to capture.

Akershus Breakfast Menu

Breakfast at Akershus is served both buffet and family style. A hot plate will be brought to your table with scrambled eggs, sausage, bacon, and hashbrown casserole (my favorite!!).

At the buffet you’ll find a mix of items that both the pickiest of eaters and the adventurous eaters will enjoy.

For the pickier eaters there is fresh fruit, yogurt, pastries and Mickey waffles.

And the adventurous eaters will love the spread of salmon, meats, cheeses, and capers.

You of course can have as much as you’d like to eat from both the buffet and the hot plate.

Akershus Breakfast Characters

While you’re enjoying breakfast, the princesses will each make their way around the restaurant to your table. We’ve seen different combinations of Snow White, Ariel, Aurora, Cinderella, and Alice while dining at Akershus (and of course Belle too!).

I’ve heard that when one princess is out sick, Alice will step in for her.

Your little one will also get to participate in the princess promenade during your meal as well! The princesses will all waltz around the restaurant with the little ones.

This is super cute and was the highlight of breakfast for Our Daughter! We were at the restaurant for about an hour and she was able to participate in two promenades!

Akershus Breakfast Review

We LOVE breakfast at Akershus! We’ve also done dinner and while the princesses were of course fantastic, we didn’t care for the food at dinner time as much as we’d hoped. The breakfast food; however, we have always enjoyed.

This breakfast is expensive — about $50 for adults and $30 for kiddos — (which is expected since you’re meeting so many princesses) but it still is cheaper than dining at Cinderella’s Royal Table. And like I mentioned earlier, it is much easier to grab a reservation at Akershus.

Because of the higher price-point, any meal at Akershus would be a great use of the Disney Dining Plan.

I highly recommend your little one wears a princess dress to this meal if she enjoys that sort of thing! It will truly amplify the experience as she’s waltzing around the restaurant hand-in-hand with a princess.

I also recommend buying a dress ahead of time to bring with you. The dresses sold at the park are very expensive.

After eating, add two more princesses to your list by meeting Anna and Elsa at their meet and greet in Norway as well! Then hop on Frozen Ever After for a truly wonderful princess morning.

  2. I just snagged this one for before park opening! I have two boys but they really enjoy flirting and loving up on the princesses 😊 Also, my boys are obsessed with frozen so we’re hoping to meet Anna and Elsa right after for the first time. Would you suggest ditching our later fastpass for frozen and going right after breakfast? We have reservations for 8:10am. Also- are photopass photographers out before park opening? Hoping to get some pics by spaceship earth when we come in.
