Best Attractions at Disneyland for Toddlers & Preschoolers

My three year old and I recently had our very first Disneyland trip! It was absolutely the highlight of our summer! We had so much fun exploring in Walt’s park and we cannot wait to make our way back to the Disneyland Resort in the future.

Our Daughter knows Walt Disney World like the back of her hand, so it was fun to switch things up a little bit and try out a new park!

Let’s take a look at the attractions, dining, and shows at Disneyland that Our Daughter LOVED!

Things to do at Disneyland with a Toddler or Preschooler

Explore Mickey’s Toontown

Our Daughter couldn’t get enough of Toontown, and neither could I! I loved Toontown at Walt Disney World when I was younger, so it was a lot of fun watching her experience the little houses that were just her size.

She loved exploring and playing in Minnie’s house and was on cloud 9 when we found Mickey inside of his house!

Watch the Mickey and the Magical Map Show

This show was AWESOME! I wish they had a show like this at Walt Disney World! There were so many characters, great songs, and the storyline was a total winner. We only watched this once and Our Daughter is still talking about this amazing show!

Dine with so many Characters at the Plaza Inn

We ate breakfast the the Plaza Inn on our last day and it was such a fun experience! I’m not exaggerating when I say there are SO MANY characters at this breakfast! We met at least 10 (including Max which was the highlight of the trip for Our Daughter!)! And the food was great too! Highly recommend this!

Ride all the things!

We rode so many rides thanks to MaxPass! Some of Our Daughter’s favorites were:

  • Alice in Wonderland
  • Mad Tea Party
  • Gadget’s Go Coaster
  • Casey Jr. Circus Train
  • Storybook Land Canal Boats
  • Peter Pan’s Flight
  • Buzz Lightyear Astro-Blasters
  • It’s a Small World
  • The Many Adventures of Winnie the Pooh
  • Pirates of the Caribbean
  • The Haunted Mansion

Our Daughter is also a bit of a thrill-seeker, even at just 3! So she loved these more daring rides too:

  • Splash Mountain
  • Big Thunder Mountain
  • Millenium Falcon: Smuggler’s Run

Find and play with Characters Throughout the Park

One of the coolest things about Disneyland was how the characters just roamed throughout the parks! Our Daughter loved meeting:

  • Mickey
  • Minnie
  • Goofy
  • Pluto
  • Rey
  • Tinkerbell
  • The Mad Hatter
  • Jasmine & Aladdin
  • Peter Pan
  • Winnie the Pooh, Tigger, and Eeyore

and so many more!

There is so much for little ones to enjoy at Disneyland and I cannot wait for our next family adventure over to California.
