Topolino’s Terrace Character Breakfast

One of the newest character dining options at Walt Disney World (and my personal new favorite!) is Topolino’s Terrace at Riviera Resort. Breakfast at Topolino’s Terrace features Mickey, Minnie, Donald, and Daisy wearing ADORABLE new costumes! We’ve done this character breakfast twice now and both times had such a wonderful experience.

Topolino’s Terrace Breakfast

Unlike most character breakfasts at Walt Disney World, Toppolino’s Terrace is NOT a buffet meal. Topolino’s Terrace is similar to the Bon Voyage breakfast at Tratorria al Forno or Storybook Dining at Artist Point.

The entire table shares an assortment of pastries and everyone chooses their drink(s) and entree.

Pastries include, muffins, danish and croissants and are served with butter, jam, and a chocolate hazelnut spread.

Your waiter will offer to bring more pastries to the table too! Or you could just ask for extras of specific items if they were favorites among the table. My kids loved the chocolate chip muffins and the croissants with chocolate hazelnut on top!

Everyone at the table chooses an entree and drink(s). They serve POG (passion orange guava) juice here which is always a fan favorite! If you’re using the Disney Dining Plan, you also can order a specialty beverage (alcoholic or non) with your table service credit!

Here’s a listing of available entrees for adults:

My husband ordered the Wood-fired Butchers Steak and really enjoyed it! The meat was tender and cooked perfectly.

I ordered the Quiche Gruyere and also enjoyed my dish. The quiche does come with potatoes but I substituted bacon to better fit my low carb diet.

Here’s a look at the kids menu!

Kids get the choice of one entree and 2 sides.

Both of my kids LOVE Mickey waffles so thats what they chose! The waffles come on dipper sticks with dipping sauces and they were a hit!

I loved that even Our Son was able to select a meal from the kid’s menu as “Mickey’s guest” (no charge for him since he is under 3!). He’s always been able to eat from the buffet at character meals for no charge but at Strorybook Dining for example, they only offer him a bowl of noodles. We were using the Disney Dining plan so I’m not sure if that impacted the waiter’s choice to serve Our Son a meal vs paying out of pocket. Either way, that was a pleasant surprise as he’s a very big eater!

Overall, the food served at Topolino’s Terrace is FANTASTIC. It is a much higher quality than what you typically see at character buffets. We loved it and will most definitely enjoy dining here again!

Pricing for Topolino’s Terrace character breakfast is $42 adults and $27 for children 3-9. The Disney Dining plan is accepted and is 1 table service credit. Tables of Wonderland is also accepted as well as DVC and AP discounts.

Characters at Topolino’s Terrace

My favorite part about character dining is exactly that, the characters! My kids love meeting them — who am I kidding, so do I! And I love that we can dine and know our kids are going to meet X,Y,Z characters without having to wait in long lines or run around the park to find them all.

Character meals are expensive, but you’re paying for the convenience. You all know I will happily pay for convenience, especially on vacation.

At Topolino’s Terrace you get to meet Mickey, Minnie, Donald and Daisy. I think what makes this breakfast really special is their fun outfits that play into the theme of the Riviera! And I love that their “careers” are celebrating the arts!

Mickey is a painter.

Minnie is a writer.

Donald is a sculptor.

And Daisy is a dancer!

I can hardly handle their outfits!! Both times we’ve eaten here we have had top-notch character interactions! The most recent time we dined, our reservation was right at opening — we were the first ones seated. And we were able to eat and see all of the characters within about 40 mins! I always say plan at least an hour for character dining so this was really efficient!

Riviera Resort and Topolino’s Terrace

Not only is the food fantastic and the characters a favorite for me, but the location of Topolino’s Terrace within the new Riviera Resort as well as the restaurant itself are stunning.

Riviera Resort is located in the EPCOT resort area and has a Skyliner stop right at the hotel making this a convenient spot to eat on EPCOT or Hollywood Studios park days.

The views from Topolino’s Terrace are gorgeous! You can see EPCOT, Hollywood Studios, and Animal Kingdom!

The restaurant itself is beautiful and higher-end BUT we still felt comfortable dining here with a 2 year old and 4 year old!

If you arrive to the resort early, definitely take some time to explore! My kids loved the outside lawn area!

Big smiles!! Our kids loved this entire morning. From skyliner ride to playing outside to dining with the characters, I can’t recommend this dining experience enough!

One thing I think is worth mentioning, as you arrive into the restaurant they have plush characters on display for purchase (ears and autograph books too). They are ADORABLE and look just like the characters greeting! And your kiddos definitely will be able to see them (and WANT THEM!!). So keep that in mind and avert their eyes or distract if needed, ha! They’re $22 each and that can add up quickly!

Breakfast is served 7:30 am – 11:00 am at Topolino’s Terrace and characters ONLY appear at breakfast, so definitely keep that in mind when looking for reservations. You most definitely need to book this ahead of time within the My Disney Experience app.

If you’re looking for a higher-end character meal experience, this is it. I can’t recommend this character breakfast enough! Hope you all enjoyed this overview and that you get a chance to dine here on your next Disney World vacation!

  2. We def want to try here! Thanks for the awesome review. How does it work with kids under 3? We’ve taken our children to buffets when they were younger than 3 and they were free. But the pricing you provided was 3+. Is a plated meal free for under 3 or are they expected to eat off your plate? Thanks for any info
